Frank LeRoy Spanish

Born February 3, 1951.  He attended Hibbing High School and graduated in 1969.  Frank had a great playing career which included Hibbing High School from 1967 to 1969, and got to play in the 1967 State Tournament.  He then went on to play at the University of Minnesota-Duluth from 1969 to 1971.  In 1975, he gradated from the University of Minnesota, with a Dental Hygiene degree.  Frank first started officiating in Duluth in the early 1970’s, and then joined MHOA in 1973.  He worked with the association through the late 1980s.  Frank was selected to multiple MSHSL State Tournaments, and was an active board member for several years.  After retiring from officiating in the late 1980’s, Frank pursued a youth hockey coaching opportunity, worked cable TV for the first ever MSHSL Girls Hockey State Tournament, and worked cable TV for Burnsville High School Boys Hockey.
